The short version — 30 seconds
- We only keep what we need to care for you: your booking details, and the health form you fill in.
- Your health information goes to Kaveri alone — it is never shared, sold, or used for marketing.
- Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details.
- Treatment records are kept for 7 years (a professional requirement), then deleted. Everything else goes much sooner.
- Ask us any time to see, correct, or delete what we hold — one email or phone call is all it takes.
Booking with us never signs anything away — these protections apply automatically, and the detail below is only there if you'd like it.
Restore Acupuncture ("we", "us") is run by Kaveri Bhat. We take your privacy seriously — especially because some of what you share with us relates to your health. This website and our practice operate in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The rest of this page explains, in plain English, what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Booking details — your name, email, phone number, preferred location, and any notes you add, so we can provide your appointment and contact you about it.
- Health check information — the details you give on our new-client form (health conditions, medications, goals). We ask for this to keep your treatment safe and tailored to you. It is sent privately to Kaveri and used for your care only.
- Messages — anything you send via the contact form, chat assistant, private aftercare form, feedback form or email, so we can reply. Feedback is only published on the website with your submission and after our approval; aftercare questions are never published.
- Payments — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; we only see that a deposit was paid or refunded.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your information with anyone for marketing.
- We don't use advertising or tracking cookies on this website.
- We don't email you marketing unless you've asked for it — booking confirmations, reminders and replies only.
Where your information lives
Bookings are stored in a secure database (Supabase, hosted in the UK/EU). Emails are delivered via Resend, payments via Stripe, and the website is hosted by Netlify. Each of these providers processes data on our behalf under GDPR-compliant terms.
How long we keep it
Appointment records and health information are kept for as long as you are a client, and afterwards for the period required by professional practice guidelines and insurance (typically 7 years for adult treatment records), then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask at any time to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted (subject to the record-keeping rules above). Just email restoreacupuncture25@gmail.com or call +44 7502 500 509.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
